13.1 Miles of Music

Before I ran my half marathon I searched and searched for different songs to include on my playlist. I have to listen to upbeat and fast paced music in order to stay motivated to run. Throughout my hour of searching I came out with only a few songs that I knew would work for me which was a little disappointing…hey not everyone is as picky as me I suppose. So I gathered up some random music that I knew would help motivate me throughout my run. I thought I would share it in case someone else decides they want to search for a playlist and has the same taste as me! 🙂

HALF MARATHON PLAYLIST

Shake it Out – Florence & The Machines

The Other Side – Jason DeRulo

Turn Up The Music – Chris Brown ft. Rihanna

Turnin’ Me On – Keri Hilson

Use Somebody – Kings of Leon

Va Va Voom – Nicki Minaj

22 – Taylor Swift

Sex On Fire – Kings of Leon

SexyBack – Justin Timberlake

Raise Up – Petey Pablo (Throwback!!)

Ridin’ Solo – Jason DeRulo

Safe and Sound – Capital Cities

Little Talks – Of Monsters and Men

Mr. Brightside – Killers (one of my faves)

No Diggity (No Doubt) – Blackstreet

Love Somebody – Maroon 5

Gone, Gone, Gone – Phillip Phillips

Don’t You Worry Child – Swedish House Mafia

Brave – Sara Bareilles

Bad Girlfriend – Theory of a Deadman

These are just some of my favorites out of the bunch. I have about 170 songs on the playlist and I doubt you’ll want to read through all of them! Either way, all these songs got the job done and had me motivated the whole 13.1 miles of running. Some people might have caught me dancing, and sometimes singing (out loud), while running. Hey, you gotta do whatever works, right?
